“BEING A NURSE MEANS TO HOLD ALL YOUR OWN TEARS AND START DRAWING SMILES ON PEOPLE’S FACE”
DANA BASEM Mar Baselios College of Nursing celebrated “International Nurses Day” on 12th May 2022 in the College auditorium. This year, the International Council of Nurses commemorated this important day with the theme “Nurses: A voice to lead- Invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health”. The Program started with a prayer song followed by lamp lighting by all the dignitaries. Ms. Jency Thomas, student of B.Sc (N) IV year welcomed all the guests. A cake was cut by the dignitaries to mark the birth anniversary of the Pioneer of Nursing, fondly known as, Lady with the Lamp, “FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE”. Ms. Rincy Chacko, student of B.Sc. (N) IV year delivered a speech based on the theme for nurses day 2022 which was followed by cultural programmes including street play, song and dance performance by B.Sc (N) students. The message of the day was delivered by Rev. Prof. Daisy Thomas, Principal, MBCON, gave an inspiring message relating it with actual clinical practice and comparing nurses to caring and compassionate mothers. The event came to an end with the vote of thanks by Ms. Reshma Rajeev, student of B.Sc Nursing IV year followed by college anthem.
